AmaMpinga Heritage Day

AT EMBALISWENI QUMBU DISTRICT EASTERN CAPE.

Zonk’indlela ziya Embalisweni / All the Roads to Mbalisweni. Thousands of amaMpinga Clan will gather for their Fourth Heritage Day at Embalisweni in Qumbu  where Mpinga had his home and where Mpinga was a resident and a Chief many Centuries ago. It is the place where everybody whose Clan Name is Mpinga originated. One of the Descendants of Mpinga was Enock Sontonga Author of our National Anthem.

Preparations for the coming Occasion will COMMENCE on  Wednesday or three days earlier where a number of cattle and sheep will be slaughtered. Many more different cultural activities will be performed including traditional dance. Our Guest Speaker of the day will be a High Profile Official from the National Department of Arts and Culture. Immediately after this occasion  AmaMpinga also intend to build a Mpinga   Memorial Stone in this Place of Remembrance.
